Brisbane Bulldogs Tug-of-War
News Pulletin No 10
Well done! A pretty good show at Redcliffe, the band was good, pulling was quite tough and we won! The down side
was not much prize money, not much of a crowd and lousy acting when throwing an end (Dave was the standout in
this department). Any day when you beat Dumaresq (even though weakened) has got to be a good day, maybe this
can start to remove the psychological trauma that has gripped us in the past.
We must work on hands low, rope low and go steady and slow.
If you are not going to Stroud on 16 July we have raffle ticket selling duties at the Sandgate RSL. Our next raffle date
after that is in September.
Don't forget our 'trivia night' is on Sat 13 Aug at the Sandgate RSL charge of $10.00 per head, Hot snacks
(party pies etc) will be provided and their will be bar service. Each team member is urged to form a table
(10 people approx) of your brightest mates, workmates, fiends and family. There will also be fund raising games and I'm
looking for two supervisors (Scott, Dave?). We are amassing a decent prize haul.
There is talk of a training day and BBQ at Canungra at the end of July /early August - better not clash with our 'trivia night'!
If you wish to make a proposal for the ATOWA AGM to be held on the 20 Aug 05 get it to me pronto!
The Chinese have a saying about tug of war (they have a saying about absolutely everything!) - "One rope - One mind - One force".
I lifted that from the TWIF magazine.
