Brisbane Bulldogs Tug-of-War
News Pulletin No 11
Our Trivia night on Saturday 13 Aug at Sandgate RSL went quite well, after all expenditures the Bulldogs are $270
more solvent. Congratulations to team' Quizzically' Challenged on winning the the quiz, they are a battle hardened outfit.
A good effort from Pauls team 'Those' ones to stay in touch with'QC' all night, they were also very fortunate in the door
prize and raffle department. A special thanks to Ken Lilley for organising two teams and to Jeanette Mitchell from
Sandgate RSL who helped ensure there was no monumental blunders. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves
(if we can improve things let me know), next time the questions will be easier.
Dates of importance:
1. 03 Sep 05 (Saturday 6.30pm) Raffle ticket selling at Sandgate RSL all available hands on deck, please!
2. 17 Sep 05 (Saturday 6.00pm) Tug of War at Beenleigh show (Dumaresq will be there as well as others)
Paul, Jerry, Lia and I are of to Maitland for the ATOWA AGM on 20 Aug 05, if you have a proposal keep it until next year.
Quiz quotes:
Veronica (Quizzically Challeged) \"We're self destructing!\"
Scott (Bitches and Bastards) \"Who cares!\" (To most questions)
Morgan Tiddy (Clueless) \"Mr Burns!\" As it was heard around the room she was hit in the back by friend Rebecca.
Rob (Blockmeisters) To young Bernadette \"We need to employ more teenagers, they know everything!\"
Bernadette (Blockmeisters) \"Opals aren't a gem, its sapphires!\" (To what is mined at Coober Pedy?).
Paul (Those Ones) \"Dr Who!\" In answer to what movie did the quote \"Shaken not stirred\" come from in 1964. He meant to
say Dr No, which was also wrong.
Apologies from the question writer (whoever he might be) for the question about 'sorocide'. What he meant of course was
sororocide (killing one's sister). Apparently nobody's perfect.
Thanks to everyone who made the effort to come along and bring a team with them. It will be a while before we try another
trivia night - its a lot of work for a fairly small return, but at least we finished in the black. Any suggestions for less painful fundraising
schemes would be welcomed.
