Tug of War Technique
NOTE: This is a technique used for friendly competitions where normal footware would
be worn.
When using this technique, weight is a big advantage for your team. Footware is also an
advantage, a solid jogger with chunky soles or even football boots or baseball cleats
if allowed.
Now, when on the rope, you need to be square on, feet shoulder width apart and out in
front as far as possible. Make sure you are comfortable. See FIG. 1
FIG. 1
The person in the "ANCHOR" position should have the rope come along their right side, up
diagonally across their back over their left shoulder and tucked under their left arm. See FIG. 2
FIG. 2
When your team is competing, keep your bodies back, knees bent and feet flat on the floor,
sliding them along the ground. Try not to lift your feet. When the opposite team try to pull
you forward, bend your knees, drop your weight and answer the attack. See FIG. 3
